he’s conscious. :)

i’ve been so busy the past week, w/ projects and thanksgiving that i didn’t really have time to update much. For the most part of the past week it was the same but he is pushing and fighting through.  Updates for today: so far he has been able to open his eyes, hear/respond to commands, & move his hands– he’s snapped his fingers & even threw up a westside sign lol.  slight improvement but it’s a little further down the road to recovery. Continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers–obviously they are working ^_^

so far so good.

According to Anais, Roger is doing very well.  Yesterday she told me that they were going to bring down his sedation and although he is still on life support, today he is showing improvement. Today he is beginning to do more commands and trying to open his eyes. It is going to be a long process for him to get back on his feet and i am positive he will make it through.  Progress is definitely good news since the past week was full of ups and downs.

This is kind of off the subject of Roger, but it was such  coincidence.  Last week, my mom told me that one of my aunts, Myrna Tagle, had a brain aneurysm as well.  I don’t really know too much detail about what happened when she was admitted to the hospital, but I just heard that she past away last night.  It really worried me more because it just illustrates how severe and unpredictable this is.   Although we weren’t that closely related, its still really heartbreaking and my thoughts and prayers go out to Auntie Myrna’s family.

to my ‘big bro’

I decided to start a blog dedicated to Roger Diaz who is currently undergoing a battle with brain aneurysm.  I really just wanted to create a place for updates on his condition as well as spread the word in order to seek help for Roger and his family.  It can also serve as a discussions space for friends and family who would like to share their thoughts and concerns about Roger and his situation. I’m not really sure how much this would help, but every little contribution counts, even emotional support…especially at a time like this.

Everything is still obviously under construction, but i will continue to work on it and keep it updated as much as possible over the next couple of weeks. I would also like to invite those who know Roger to get involved–whether you have ideas for fundraisers or you have a funny story about Roger that you would like to share. I think that with such an unfortunate situation like this, it is important to connect with each other so we can build a supportive community for Roger and Anais.
